Disc Breaks with Llupa - 96 - ft. Duane Barry - 19th November 2009

The guest mix series continues here on the Disc Breaks show and this week we're very pleased to be bringing you an exclusive mix from one of the leaders in the Progressive Breaks scene - Duane Barry. I've been a fan of his particular sound for a while, always able to turn in a epic remix like his tweak of Mikas 'Haze' or a deep and melodic original like 'Cerulean Blue'. Recently he started up his own label Digital Sensation UK pushing his own brand of breaks and if the last couple of release are anything to go by it's going to have a long and epic future.. He's sent through an wickedly eclectic mix of deep driving melodic breaks, featuring a few tasters forthcoming on DSUK - make sure you catch this one

Duane Barry - a producer of progressive breaks and melodic, atmospheric electronica. Both his original tracks and remixes are renowned for their intricate layers of pads and strings, deep bass, swirling melodies and broken beats. As a producer, his tracks have received support from the finest on the progressive scene such as Jody Wisternoff, Stefan Anion, Arthur Deep, Retroid, Embliss, Aeron Aether, BETA, Coalesced, BreakZhead, Abdomen Burst and many more. His releases have consistently been in the top seller charts across a variety of download stores (Beatport, DJ Download etc) and in some cases even topping the Progressive Breaks charts so a big thank you to everyone for showing your support!

As a DJ, he likes his sets to be full of melodic breaks showcasing pumping basslines, stunning soundscapes and the finest in futuristic electronica. Ranging from pulsating pad and melody-driven tracks to speaker-shattering grooves with some vocal and electro elements in between. As well as presenting his own monthly show "Cosmic Refractions" on DanceRadioGlobal, he has also guested and done podcasts for Dance Radio, Proton, Pure.FM, TribalMixes, NSB Radio and the Breakonomics show on RTE Pulse.

Duane is also the owner and operator of label Digital Sensation UK - a label focussed on showcasing the very best in progressive and futuristic breaks. For more info have a look at the top friend :)

"We use music to study the past, analyse the present and contemplate the future. I want to write music that sounds like it is from a world beyond our world - beautiful and melodic, emotional and engaging." - Duane Barry
